[ HEADCANONS ]
- - *Those without a link are personal headcanons. Headcanons that are not mine and don't have a link will be noted with an asterisk.
1) Claire was part of BACA (Bikers Against Child Abuse) before her involvement with TerraSave became a full-time thing. She's still in contact with many of them.
2) Claire is good with languages. She is fluent in few but can handle herself in many others.
3) Most likely to have a Twitter account.
4) Claire and Helena bond over the wackiest conspiracy theories.
5) Prior to Raccoon City, Claire Redfield was a humanities major and FineArts minor.
6) Does not have a pet but is an avid animal lover.
7) Claire is actually super sassy sometimes.
8) She races (or used to, at least) on her bike. Before the Raccoon City incident, she raced with a few people here and went to motorcycle conventions to see some beautiful choppers.
9) For this, and for the aforementioned headcanon, she's friends with very frightening bikers. She has more or less earned her respects and her stripes amongst them. Aside from being a former member of BACA, being in TerraSave and just outright surviving Raccoon City. An impressive resume.
10) Not a fan of cucumber.
11) Music taste? Dad Rock and I'm so sorry but I'm right about this.
12) Artistic hobbies? Yes. No more explanation.
13) Is always the motherly one in her group of friends, as well as the big sister. It is just part of the nature to be sitting nursing everyone back to health after they get too drunk.
14) When her parents died, she and Chris received their inheritance (and possibly their grandparent's before that) which was quite a handsome amount, explaining both of Claire's motorcycles and her ability to go into College.
15) A common headcanon for the fandom: Claire (and Chris, apparently!) personalized her own vests and possibly still does in her adulthood.
16) Quite possibly a party girl at heart, just that she still always ends up mothering everyone else while she's still a bit tipsy. *Headcanon taken/inspired by: this post.
17) Good with dancing, though not formally trained.
18) Loves to play games with Moira. *Headcanon taken/inspired by: this post.
19) Despite being good with children overall, she's not ready to be a mother yet. Little time to care for them and feeling like she still needs to make the world a safer place being the top reasons.
20) Claire likes building furniture. Keeping her hands busy and piecing things together greatly pleases her!
21) Her middle name is: Elizabeth.
22) Secretly loves Urban Exploration.
23) Possibly did trainhopping in her youth -- but don't tell Chris.
24) Canonically, she can pick locks. However, I headcanon that she picked up this ability (from Jill) to do mischievous stuff in highschool lockers and later on in life found more useful practices to it. (If my calculations are correct, Chris and Jill are STARS members by the time Claire is entering her Senior year in highschool, so this checks out).
25) Sometime before the Raccoon City incident, in one college party, she went through a peculiar (and hilarious) incident dubbed only as The Strawberry Cult Incident. No, she will not elaborate for legal reasons.
26) Claire IS the life of the party (as noted by an RP!Jill here), but she's simultaneously the mother of the party. It's a strange combination that just seems to make sense.
27) On that note: Claire's flirtatious nature knows no bounds, evidently.
28) Claire grew up watching horror movies and hearing horror stories (inspired by the SD Novelization). Nowadays, she still indulges in few movies here and there, but Zombie movies are a hard no.
29) Claire probably went to therapy after the death of her parents.
30) On that same note: since TerraSave helds aid the victims and survivors of bioterrorism, we can assume they have connection with psychologist, therapists and psychiatric hospitals. We could also argue that all TerraSave members receive perks or help for their work in the organization. Therefore, I would like to believe Claire has received some help from her experiences in all the outbreaks she's been in -- especially from tragedies.
31) In the same vein, I think Claire's most traumatic incident, to this day, is Raccoon City. There is still ripples and consequences from that day that she sees in her work.
32) Based off of this picture, I like to think that while Sherry was in custody of important people, Claire was still allowed to visit and take little Sherry around on her motorcycle.
33) She still struggles with hearing the sound of 'groaning' and other zombie like noises. Especially when people try to "joke around" with them.
34) Everytime she steps into an island, SOMETHING's gotta happen.
35) This is teetering on the edge of being a canon fact but basically, Claire was captured in the Parisian Umbrella lab, meaning she travelled all the way there and had the expertise to get around. She most likely knew some french. As to how she got the money, well the inheritance from her parents and grandparents helped more than just College.
36) Less of a headcanon and more of a justification for my re-interpretation of Claire (LOL). But Claire during Revelations 2 can be described as 'Grumpy Claire' and a little 'humorless' in comparison to her previous appearances. Besides some contradictory stuff in Revelations 2 (for example Claire's sudden ineptitude with treating a child, her lack of spirit and her saying a gun is 'more reliable than any person' when previously she was a little perturbed by Steve Burnside sayng that exact same thing), I don't hate Revelations 2 and I still consider it canon, I just chalk up the, uhh, inconsistency to Claire just having a bad time that time, I guess. At the end of the game though, she seems to have regained some of that spirit back, which I celebrate!
37) She was a rather wild child during high school and at the beginning of her college years. How wild? Yes. That'll be the answer for now. Not without rhyme or reason, but she was still quite surprisingly wild.
38) Claire used to not do flips or tricks as much in her youth, but now as she's getting older and needs to stay more active she does them more frequently. And because it's funny to see people's reaction.
